Recruiting franchisees online works best as a funnel with five steps: reach, interest, qualification, meeting and measurement. We build and manage that funnel, so your development manager only speaks to candidates who meet the required personal investment and fit the areas where you want to grow. The statutory disclosure obligation under the Dutch Franchise Act remains with you as the franchisor. Alongside online marketing for franchise brands, recruitment is our second core activity.
Why are more and more franchisors recruiting candidates online?
Future entrepreneurs start their search online. They look for franchise brands in their sector, read about other people's experiences and compare terms. A franchise brand that is not visible there drops out before any contact is made.
The channels are large. According to Newcom's Nationale Social Media Onderzoek 2026, 5.8 million Dutch people use LinkedIn and 10.6 million use YouTube. Among them are employees who want to become entrepreneurs and business owners looking for a second location. With LinkedIn for recruitment and B2B you reach that group, targeted by job title and region.
A common objection to the traditional model of directories and portals is that you pay for visibility and applications, even when they are not serious. We work the other way round: no upfront costs, payment per verified introduction and a success fee on signing. Read more about recruiting franchisees on results.

What does the online recruitment funnel for franchisees look like?
Each step has its own goal and its own metric. So you can see exactly where candidates drop out. A detailed explanation of each step can be found in the funnel for prospective franchisees.
| Step | What we do | What we measure |
|---|---|---|
| Reach | Campaigns on LinkedIn, Meta, Google and, where it fits, TikTok or YouTube | Reach and clicks per channel and region |
| Interest | Recruitment page with the story, terms and an information pack | Downloads and time on page |
| Qualification | Short questionnaire on personal investment, region, experience and start date | Share of candidates who qualify |
| Meeting | Only suitable candidates receive an invitation | Meetings scheduled and held |
| Measurement | Linking all steps together in the dashboard | Cost per qualified candidate |
How do we qualify prospective franchisees in advance?
Qualification separates the curious from serious candidates. You set the criteria; we turn them into a questionnaire that is easy to complete on a phone.
First calculate what your current mix costs per signed contract: calculate your recruitment costs yourself.
| Question | Why | How we measure it |
|---|---|---|
| How much personal investment do you have available? | Determines whether financing is feasible | Range in the form |
| In which region do you want to start? | Links the candidate to your growth map | Postcode or province |
| When do you want to start? | Planning of meetings and training | Choice from fixed periods |
| Do you have experience as an entrepreneur or manager? | Estimate of the support needed | Yes or no with explanation |
Personal investment
We ask about available personal capital in ranges. You set the threshold yourself, because it differs per franchise brand and per lender. Financing, for example through a Qredits loan or a BMKB guarantee, always runs through the candidate and their lender.
Region
Candidates choose a preferred area. If that area does not match your growth map, the candidate receives a courteous reply instead of a meeting.
Experience and start date
Entrepreneurial experience, sector knowledge and the preferred start date help your development manager prepare for meetings.
Work together on measurable results, not on an annual contract. Start with the free visibility scan.
Which obligations under the Dutch Franchise Act remain with the franchisor?
Since 2021, the Dutch Civil Code has governed franchising in a title of its own. Article 7:911 of the Dutch Civil Code contains the definition: the franchisee obtains the right, and accepts the obligation, to operate the franchise formula in return for payment. Articles 7:913 and 7:916 of the Dutch Civil Code require you to inform candidates in advance, for example about the fees you charge and the investments you expect. Between that information and the signature there is a standstill period of at least four weeks.
We take care of the marketing, not that legal disclosure. You draw up your information pack and contract yourself. Have your contract reviewed by a franchise lawyer; this is not legal advice.
Which channels do we use to recruit franchisees?
LinkedIn is strong for candidates with a career in management or sales. Meta reaches a broad group within a defined region. With YouTube video for franchise chains you show what a day at a location looks like, and short-form video on TikTok suits franchise brands looking for younger entrepreneurs. If you would rather reach prospective franchisees through a matching site, you can also look at franchise-starten.nl, a site from our own network.
Fictitious worked example: what does one qualified candidate cost?
A fictitious franchise brand wants to open five new locations within six months. The figures below are made up and only serve to show the calculation method.
| Step | Number | Calculation |
|---|---|---|
| Advertising budget paid to platforms | €9,000 | €1,500 per month |
| Applications via the questionnaire | 120 | From all channels combined |
| Qualified candidates | 30 | Meet the investment and region criteria |
| Cost per qualified candidate | €300 | €9,000 divided by 30 |
| Meetings with the development manager | 30 | Only suitable candidates |
How does a franchise brand start recruiting candidates online?
Recruitment has a fixed monthly price based on a quote, separate from the advertising budget you pay to the platforms. First we scan your current recruitment page and channels, then run a pilot in one or two regions and scale up what works. That is how the whole process runs from scan to roll-out. If you are building a franchise brand from scratch, also read about launching a new franchise brand. You can see all channels together in the complete services overview.
